Sam Tung Uk Museum is now under the management of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office. Declared a historical monument in 1981, this restored 200-year-old walled rural village located on Sai Lau Kok Road provides an insight into the lives of villagers in the New Territories centuries ago. The museum exhibits items that relate to historical rituals, festivals, and traditional craftsmanship, representing the efforts of villagers in developing, promoting, and passing on their customs and traditions.

Buddhist Western Monastery
Located in Lo Wai Chuen, Tsuen Wan (10 minutes north of Tsuen Wan town centre) the village is home to many historic temples and monasteries. The Western Monastery occupies a huge area and is one of the most distinguished temples in the Tsuen Wan district.

Yuen Yuen Institute
Located in Tsuen Wan, the Yuen Yuen Institute which was built in 1950 on the hillside near Lo Wai Village, Tsuen Wan. This is a temple complex dedicated to three major Chinese religions, i.e. Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. The Institute hosts a gardening show every spring.

Tai Mo Shan

YHA Mei Ho House Youth Hostel
Mei Ho House is a physical symbol of the beginning of Hong Kong’s public housing policies, which documents the development of public housing and living conditions in Hong Kong from the 1950s to the 1970s.
